5 Ways to Conquer Your Fears And Reach Your Potential

how to conquer your fears and step into the most successful season of your life...

To reach your full potential is to conquer the fears that are holding you back…

Potential is all you can be and become that you haven’t yet experienced. It is you being capable of being and doing. It’s you doing things that you haven’t done yet but that doesn’t mean that you cannot do it.

What is the purpose of everything in life? Who am I really? These are the questions that many ask themselves. Many walk around thinking “There’s gotta be more, there’s gotta be more.”

You will never find fulfillment until you understand why you were made. The potential of everything is related to its purpose for being.

The sad thing is many will not understand or reach their full potential because of fear. Fear has caused many to live a mediocre and unhappy life. Without fully unfold the person they were born to be. And unfortunately has taken their potential to the grave.

How does fear affect us?

When you feel scared, your brain releases a hormone called adrenaline, as well as other stress hormones such as cortisol. These hormones will help you handle whatever that is threatening or scaring you.

So we can use these hormones that our brains release to push through even though we’re scared. However, many will choose a “safety” zone just because it’s comfortable. And gave fear the power to stop them growing, evolving, and progressing.

It’s important to conquer your fears. Especially the ones that will come to stand in the way to reach your potential. To conquer your fears is to be able to feel the stress and anxiety but still stepping into the best season of your life.

The Fear of Rejection

Rejection hurts that’s a fact. Maybe you’re an entrepreneur exposing yourself. Or you’re an employee striving to achieve great things in your career. Perhaps you’re an artist showing your vision to the world. It doesn’t matter what path you are on. You will experience rejection.

If you’re serious about making your dream a reality, at some point you are going to have to expose yourself to rejection.

It is important to develop a character to face these rejections and learn to move forward. To conquer the fear of rejection, you have to learn to be a resilient person. You have to be able to withstand and recover quickly from the feeling of rejection.

Did you know, the more you focus on your rejection the greater the possibility will become that you will give up on the way?

So, do not be afraid to step into the most successful season of your life, because you fear that you will be rejected. Rejection will help you better yourself and develop the character of a strong person.

The best way to conquer this fear is to just do it!

Fear of Failure

There’s a quote that says “the bigger the dream, the bigger the fear.” If I sit here and tell you that I’ve never felt the fear of failure, I’d be lying. How can we put this fear in words?

It’s a feeling of pressure. Your whole body turning cold, while your heart is beating in your throat. It’s you doubting yourself, questioning if you’re making the right decision. Considering If you should take the step yes or no towards this position. Your hands are shaking. Your mind becoming completely blank.

The fear of failure is real. Everybody that has ever taken a step into their success has felt this feeling. When you dream a big dream, it will captivate you and sparkle you with anticipation.

To conquer this fear, there are two options set on the table for you:

  1. Run away with fear and live a mediocre life
  2. Hold your nerve, embrace the fear, and move forward

Which one will you decide to choose?

No one ever has reached their full potential while being stuck to their comfort zone. Our comfort zone will only delay time and will give us the illusion of everything is alright. But is it really?

So to conquer your fears, it’s scary yes, but with a positive mindset you can achieve anything you put your mind up to.

You are strong, capable, and you can do it. But until you step out of your comfort zone you will not achieve greatness. This has led me to my third fear.

The Fear That Holds You in Your Comfort Zone

As human beings, we are capable of doing big things. Yet many of us still live below the level of our true ability. We have settled for the standards established by the opinion of others or by our comfort. We are afraid to move beyond our dreams to action.

You know what’s funny? It’s more comfortable to think about all we might do instead of working to achieve what we can do.

If you look at your life right now, what do you see? A person who finds him/herself thinking about potential businesses, happiness, financial stability? Or do you see a person that’s has shift his/her gearbox from neutral to drive and decide to work towards these ideas?

It’s a pity to see so many people complaining about their jobs, but still want to remain in the exact position. Because they are afraid of what’s outside their comfort zone.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand. Everybody wants to feel secure. Everybody wants what’s safer for them. I was there, I’ve lived and dedicated most of my life to the “whatever’s convenient” option. Even though I knew that there was more to my life, it was scary for me to move forward outside my comfort zones.

It took me getting sick, and my life to shaken up to make the decision to move forward from my comfort zone. So I understand your fear.

But it’s important to conquer this fear. Ask yourself right now “Do I feel satisfied in my current state?” If your answer is no, then it’s time to stop dreaming and wake up. Stop wishing. It’s time to take action.

The Fear of The Unknown

Uncertainty, unpredictable timing, intensity, the future, these all will frighten us when we think about it. Because we just don’t know what does it hold.

We describe this fear like this:  You received a direction from a friend and decided follow this direction. You’ve reached a certain house. There’s no one around. No Car. You get out of your car and walk towards the house.

As you’re knocking on the door, the door has open on its own. There’s no one behind the door. At this point, this has started to get weird. Your heart is beating fast; you don’t know what’s going on. You say “Hello” no one. Your body has started to feel cold.

Because of the unknown. You don’t know what’s going on. You’ve trusted your friend that he has sent you the right address. But what is this? This is scary and creepy…

The fear of the unknown is scary because you just don’t know what is going to happen next.

But the good news of the unknown is that, until you’ve stepped into it, you wouldn’t know what is waiting for you. So don’t let the fear of the unknown keep you from experiencing a life greater than you have ever known.

You are so much more than you expect from yourself. Decide today “I am going to do something I’ve never done before.” You have a skill or ability that the world needs.

Push through, break free, think less, and just take the step into greatness.

The Fear of Change

Many people never get beyond “the idea” stage. That’s sad. The idea stage is where you get many ideas of things that you want to do.  Example: “I want to be a YouTuber.” And because they never get beyond this stage. They are usually followers.

Then we have people who are in the “Imagination” stage. They’ve imagined being a YouTuber. And they constantly talk about it, but they do nothing about it. These people will constantly be wishing but are not really willing to take any steps.

But when you decide to take your imagination and put it on paper. You go from visionary to missionary.

To go from visionary to missionary change is necessary.  Someone said one reason people resist change is because they focus on what they have to give up. Instead of what they have to gain.

If you could see through your eyes what you were created to be, you’d change your life.

You don’t want to end up with regrets saying “If I just took the step, I would’ve…” Make it happen! Change is scary but necessary. Become a missionary today. When you have an imagination write it down. Make it a goal. And work on it. You’ll be unstoppable.
