Self-Improvement: 6 Powerful Wisdom That Really Work

Self-Improvement: 6 Powerful Wisdom That Really Work

Most people want to be the best version of themselves.

We want to be able to find the inner confidence to fit in this “cosmetic” world. So many people, brands, and businesses have manipulated terms like “confidence.

And also words like “our better selves” to make people think that they should be a certain way to fit in.

Let’s take Instagram for example, it’s all about an unrealistic reality.

Perfect bodies, makeup tutorials, rich and successful people, expensive cars.

I mean you name it. This has caused many people to think that to find their confidence, they have to match that unrealistic reality.

As a result, many people are living with the fear, anxiety, and depression.

Thinking that they can never be successful because they don’t fit in that standard.

But, I got good news for ya! Even though we are living in this cosmetic world, there are people out there that still want to stand out.

That’s why I love everything about the word self-improvement.

Because even though we are living in this cosmetic world system. There are people that want to break that fake unrealistic desire.

And develop themselves the right way!

So, if I want to develop myself then why am I still feeling stuck?

This is where it gets interesting.

Let’s paint a picture so we can get a better understanding.

First, you see the problem: ME (I am the problem). Then you see the solution: SELF-IMPROVEMENT (I want to develop myself) but there’s a gap between the two.

The key to self-improvement is finding out how you can close that gap.

But, the truth is while me and you want to personally grow we need to learn how to start..

It took me a moment to think about this question “How do I start becoming the best version of me?”

And after giving the question some thought, and doing a little bit of research…

I came up with 6 weird yet powerful wisdom from the bible to improve yourself.

Self-Improvement wisdom 1

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

In other words, do not copy the behavior and customs of the world.

Because while it’s all perfect looking, it will bring you anxiety and stress, because we can’t keep up.

Our society these days promotes the exact opposite of what is best of our personal well being.

People will let you think that to find your self-confidence, you have to spend $50 to buy this specific make-up or facial treatment. But that is not true.

Instead, you have to be willing to transform yourself into a new person by changing your mindset. What I mean with this is: it’s all about the way you think.

Do you want to improve yourself?

Change the way you think and see how everything starts changing around you.

For example, if you used to think “I’m a mean person.”

Change it to think “I’m a lovely person.”

And you will soon see how the magic happens to make that into your new reality.

Self-Improvement wisdom 2

Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.

Have you ever watched those inspirational and touching videos on YouTube or Facebook?

Where a group of people have decided that they are going to help the homeless. Giving them money, food, new clothes, etc?

This is exactly what this bible verse means. If you want to improve yourself and become a better version of yourself, you need to learn to do good. And not only when people are watching.

Help the helpless. Inspire someone else.

Be able to give to the needy people. Always walk with the attitude of “How can I serve someone today?.”

It could even be a smile. Because sometimes we have no materialistic things.

But we have a big and bright smile with which we can change somebody’s day.

Self-Improvement wisdom 3

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

One of the attributes of a successful and intelligent person is that they are slow to speak but quick to listen. But what is the benefit of that?

When you are quick to speak, it will make it impossible for people to reach out to you and talk to you.

Because your opinion is on the table before they can finish their sentence.

To succeed and be a great leader you have to be quick to listen.

When you listen. you can hear people’s true intentions.

And when you are slow to speak, it will give people the impression that you are trustworthy.

Self-Improvement wisdom 4

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

In order to develop yourself, you have to believe that you can!

The truth is you can do everything you put up your mind to do.

So, what is on your mind? Are you willing to put work into it? Do you think God is happy with your plans?

After answering these questions, you proceed!

Make this your affirmation: “I can do all things!” But don’t forget to consider God in your plans.

Self-Improvement wisdom 5

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

To put it differently, do not get tired of doing what is good.

We are living in a fast-paced world, where everything is changing around us.

People are becoming more and more selfish. Love is vanishing and everything is becoming unreal.

It’s important for you and me to remain of character and don’t be caught up in everything that’s going on around us.

And most important, never give up! Remain hopeful that one day the sun will shine upon us again.

Self-Improvement wisdom 6

Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.

What a great verse to reach the end of this post.

Self-development is all about becoming the ultimate best version of us.

We have to aspire to be extraordinary.

To break down the verse, it says a wise person uses few words.

Which means that we have to learn to control our mouth at all times.

Do not let your emotions overpower your intelligence.

But be mindful to snap yourself every time your emotions wants to take control over you.

To Conclude

Self-development is a daily process.

We have to be willing to change every time we see a pattern that is not okay in our behavior.

Because if we do not deal with it, it will manifest in every area of our lives.

“through self-discipline comes freedom"

Aristotle
