Developing A Healthy Mindset

What is a healthy mind?

Just as we need to eat balancing foods, drink enough water, exercise as much as we can to maintain a healthy lifestyle, we also need to do certain things to develop a healthy mindset.

Your mind is the battery of your life. A car can’t go anywhere without a battery. The battery is its source of energy, it’s the same with our lives. If we do not work to develop a healthy mind we will find ourselves stuck long term without going back or forward.

The way that we think and see life is very important when it comes to a healthy mind. Our mind is a powerful source of energy. Your perspective, expectations, and focus affect the way energy manifests into physical reality. This is very crucial because here is where most people lack.

How do you see life? What drives you? What is your perspective on difficulties and uncertainty? Our mindset affects our daily lives, how we make decisions, how we respond to difficulties, and so on.

A Healthy Mind...

One of the best ways to develop a healthy mindset is by finding ways to grow from your thoughts, instead of letting them control you. The brain is one of the most astonishing parts of the human body.

Just as the brain is responsible for keeping your body running all day, our mindset is responsible to move us forward in life. When you put a limit to your mind, you’ve put a limit to your life.

Have you ever heard that the sky’s the limit? These words are the exact representation that anything is possible if we trust and believe with our mind. As a result, endless possibilities will manifest into our life.

Elements that affects your mindset

Your beliefs

Studies have found that your beliefs can shape your reality and influence your behavior. For example, if you believe that you are capable, competent, and deserving of your dream job, you’re probably most likely to notice and seek out opportunities that could help you get there.

Your belief system is the invisible force behind your behavior. It’s one of the strongest forces that affect any decision you are making.

If you believe that you are not born to be successful, guess what happens? You are literally letting your brain know that you don’t want to strive towards success.

Many times we will search and search for the simple formula to a successful, and fulfilled life. We want that one specific key to unlock the doors to the good life without finding it.

There is no specific key to success… Everything starts and ends with your mindset. Because of wrong beliefs, you will tie yourself to a tree without realizing that it is you that is holding yourself back.

Your attitude

A negative attitude is almost a guarantee that life will be more difficult and less fulfilling than it should be.

There’s this quote by John Milton that says,” the mind is its own place, and it itself can make a heaven of hell, or a hell of heaven.”

In psychology, an attitude refers to a set of emotions, beliefs, and behavior toward a particular object, thing, or person. Attitudes are often the result of experiences or childhood, and they can have a powerful influence over behavior.

The way that you grew up, the belief system that you were taught, all the different emotions that you’ve experienced can determine a positive or negative influence over your attitude.

This is one of the elements that can also affect your mind. With what attitude do you see life? When something doesn’t go your way, how would you react to the situation?

Going through life with a negative attitude is like setting a trap for yourself to fall into.

How to Develop A Healthy Mind?

Awareness of your self-talk

To improve something is to find the awareness that you need help. Everyone has an internal voice, and part of this voice is an inner critic, inner hater, or inner doubter. You can hear this voice within the negative self-talk that happens in your thoughts.

Have you found yourself hearing this in your thoughts?

  • I’m not good enough
  • I will probably fail either way
  • This is too impossible, I can’t do this

The way that we self-talk ourselves into situations will determine our behavior towards the specific situation. It’s also important and essential to find out what specifically triggers such a voice to come up. Perhaps, fear? When you’re under pressure? Or maybe when you fail?

It’s important to consciously analyze your attitude. Every time these voices are talking in your head write down what has triggered such thoughts or feelings.

Change your perspective

You may not always be able to change what happens around you, but you always have a choice of how you respond, react, and how you view the situation.

Our perception of life will be what we go through life with. So, if you have a negative perception, every time difficulties knock on your doors, life will be harder than it should be for you.

It’s important to develop a mindset with a perspective of growth and possibilities.

Every time you find yourself thinking things like “I’m not good enough”, stop and break the power of the thought by speaking against it and say “I am good enough. Capable of doing all things.”

See your failures as possibilities to try again and this time better. Develop the perspective that everything in life is a learning process. After every failure, you’ve grown wiser and stronger.

Develop an “Everything is Possible” mindset

Everything is possible if you believe, that’s a fact! The secret key to success is to find your purpose and live it the best you can. The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but to live a life without a purpose. So tie yourself to your goals (you are full of potential) and believe that everything is possible. Work hard, fall down, get up, and keep believing that everything is possible until you reach your goals.

Everything is possible and provides an understanding that we are all capable of living an extraordinary life!
